Rowe Photo, invite photographers to submit
portfolios of exactly eight images to this
Portfolio
Showcase 2015.
This is one of the premier photography events in
the area with prizes valued at around $2000!
You may enter more than
once with additional portfolios.
The judge for the exhibition
is Nathan Lyons, renowned photographer and educator. He will
select eight portfolios for gallery exhibition and publication in the Portfolio
Showcase 2015 exhibition catalog. See

The Gallery Partners
will select the Grand Prize Winner from this group of portfolios, upon
viewing the framed prints on the Gallery walls.
The eight winners will each
receive:

Exhibition of
their matted and framed portfolio at Image City
-
A
limited-edition copy of the exhibition catalog
-
One photograph from
all the eight winning portfolios will be chosen by the judge to be
featured on the front cover of the exhibition
catalog.

An award
certificate for $100 in services or products at Lumiere
Photo -- including wide-format printing, framing and supplies

An award
certificate for $50 in services or products at Rowe Photo
The Grand Prize
winner, announced at the August 15 Artists' Reception,
will also receive
Those not fortunate to be selected are offered a
free, optional review of their work via several different methods. The
competition judge will not be a part of these review sessions.

Judge's Biography:
Nathan Lyons has been an integral part of almost every area of
photography as photographer, educator, lecturer, author, and curator. He
is Founding Director Emeritus, Visual Studies Workshop (1969-2001) and
Distinguished Professor Emeritus, SUNY Brockport. He holds Honorary
Doctorates from Rhode Island School of Design (2004), Corcoran School of
Art (1995), and Alfred University (2006), and was named Honored
Educator, Society for Photographic Education (1997). Lyons was Associate
Director and Curator of Photography, Editor of Publications, and
Director of Extension Activities at the George Eastman House
(1961-1969). He was a founder and first chairman of the Society for
Photographic Education, and initiated the formation of Oracle, an annual
meeting of photographic curators. Lyons has exhibited extensively since
1956 with work represented in numerous collections. He was the recipient
of the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Lifetime
Achievement in Photography (2000) and Friends of Photography Peer Awards
in Creative Photography Award for Distinguished Career in Photography
(1989).
