Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce the next
show at Image City Photography Gallery
titled Shape and Shadow
by the featured artist Bruce
Elling. Bruce is a graduate of
Nazareth College, with a Master's Degree
in Art Education. He is a photography
and art teacher at Pittsford Sutherland
High School. His exhibit focuses on
compositions with bold shapes, colors,
and values, using strong natural light
to exploit both rich hues by the
illumination and dense shadows. His
photographs were taken predominantly in
the Rochester area. In addition to the
gallery exhibit, select photographs are
also exhibited at Edibles Restaurant and
Starry Nites Cafe, both just down the
street between Image City and the
Memorial Art Gallery all in the "heart
of the Neighborhood of the Arts".
The show is further enhanced by
the work of sixteen
photographers -- Guest
Photographers Christine Heusner,
Mike Kidulich, Lynne
Littlefield, Rick Mearns, Bob
Melnyk, and Steve Tryon;
Artists-in-Residence Gil Maker,
Jim Patton, and David Perlman;
and Gallery Partners Daniel P.
Crozet, Dan Neuberger, Betsy
Phillips, Gary Thompson, Phyllis
Thompson, Sheridan Vincent, and
George Wallace. Betsy Phillips
will be exhibiting in the East
Gallery.
The opening reception is on
Friday, July 18 from 5 to 8:30pm
and we would love to see you
there.
